Flow Koka (Coolamon), 2023
Acrylic on wood (river gum)
A coolamon is a curved vessel traditionally used by Aboriginal women to carry tucker (food) or to cradle babies. This river gum was hand carved then a burning technique was used to apply symbols depicting the bounty of food around the Hunter River and Aboriginal men hunting fish with spears.
Due to the delicate and bulky nature, I am unable ship artworks on stretched canvas or wood. This will need to be picked up from my studio in Hamilton NSW 2303. Complete address will be provided after checkout and I will be in touch to arrange a suitable time for collection.
